Peer Review Rosters
There are two avenues for seeking and retaining accreditation. The Program to Evaluate and Advance Quality (PEAQ) and the Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP). Both avenues have peer reviewers that are essential to voluntary accreditation.
The Commission provides guidance for institutions and peer reviewers in its Statement on Peer Reviewers Serving as Independent Consultants or on Mock Teams to Institutions that are Accredited by or Seeking Accreditation with the Commission.
PEAQ Reviewers
PEAQ peer reviewers are called Consultant-Evaluators, a title that indicates the two important functions of each evaluation team. PEAQ Consultant-Evaluators are required to be full-time administrators and/or faculty members of a NCA member institution. In addition, they must be willing and able to travel for two- or three-day visits to other institutions at least once during an academic year.
AQIP Reviewers
AQIP peer reviewers have a strong background in continuous quality improvement.
AQIP Reviewers are selected for specific roles in AQIP processes.
